Together we filled the hallways with laughter
She was the map that guided me through the days
I laid my bricks using the blueprint she left
Every move I made was in hopes of her praise
Now she has left our house colourless and dim
Most days we don’t speak, not a single sentence
Part of me is gone, like I’ve misplaced a limb
The hallways are silent without her presence

But I know the connection is not lost
If two magnets are close enough, they’ll bind
I know our connection will defrost, for I will not leave our friendship behind
Though some memories I can’t quite remember
We’re still the same girls who played dress up together
