She came into my life when I was at my lowest, made me feel whole again. Somewhere along the way, I fell for her. I’m sorry, I love her. I didn’t even get the chance to confess, my actions said it all. And then she left, leaving me more broken than before. The one who fixed me just had to be the one to break me again. how am i supposed to get over her?

Dear city lights,
I hear you. Although amphibians aren’t humans, I hear how much you’re hurting. It’s like she found you when you were completely lost and made you feel like yourself again. And now she’s gone, and it hurts even more than before. It feels so unfair. The person who put you back together is the same person who broke your heart.
You should never first think about “getting over,” rather let it out. All of it. The sadness, the confusion, the anger, the gratitude—all of it is welcome here. “A heart must grieve what it has lost” is what I shall say. You must feel the storm fully before you can ever hope to see the stars again.
Now, she showed you a reflection of your own wholeness. You must then learn to see it without the mirror. Who knows if this maybe a lesson of self-love after all. You are the only constant in your story. Learning to fix yourself is how you ensure you are never this broken again.
After you heal, this is when you will finally meet someone whose choice is always, consistently, to stay.
Be patient with your heart. It’s doing its best to heal.
Yours,
Askolotl
