This Year’s Alumni Panel: Not New, Not Diverse, but Applicable

According to Director of College Counseling Mindy Rose, the panel is meant to “help SAS students begin to imagine what their post-high school lives could look like” and “put perspective around the college process.” While last year’s alumni panel was larger, comprised of alumni from Australia and the UK, this year’s panel was just three alumni: Andrea Jeng, Katrina Cherk, and Mikas Hansen. Reactions to IB Extended Essay Deadline

By Ryan Strong IB students at Shanghai American school recently had a deadline (on November seventh) for their EE or Extend Essay. This is a four-thousand-word essay that has students write about a topic within one of their areas of study or related to multiple areas of study. The way students dealt with the deadline differed: some students turned their Extended Essay in within the deadline, while others asked for extensions from their teachers.
