Within a week, just as faculty, administration, students, and families dispersed all over the world for the Chinese New Year break, everything fell apart. The COVID-19 reality soon settled in, and thus the administration abandoned their breaks in favor of generating a Distance Learning Plan from scratch. With major administrative forces such as Mr. Marcel Gauthier, Dr. Benjamin Lee, Ms. Kristen Dickhaut, and Ms. Emily Sargent-Beasley pioneering SAS efforts in response to the crisis, versatility and flexibility became traits of high demand. Freshmen discuss anticipations for SAS-ISB Swim Invitational Meet

From Friday, November 1st, to Sunday, the SAS-ISB Swim Invitational Meet was held at SASPD. 19 schools across Asia participated in this meet – one of the largest non-APAC swim meets that lasted for three days. SASPD came in second place with over 800 points while SASPX came in first with over 1200 points. Regardless of their school or age, everyone held anticipations and goals before this swim meet. Four SAS buses crash on Gaoke Road

MONDAY – Last week on October 28th, 7:42 AM, four SAS school buses were involved in a traffic accident. According to the email sent to parents by Emily Sargent-Beasley, Bus #137 first stopped abruptly in order to avoid crashing into a bicycle in the traffic lane. The bus behind was #199, and it had sufficient time to stop. But, buses #126 and #153 behind the first two did not have enough time to stop. “All buses incurred some level of damage, including broken windshields.” However, no injuries were reported from the incident.
