Losing to YCIS with a 25 point margin and watching their opponents wrap each other in triumphant hugs was not how SASPD’s junior varsity boys basketball team intended their day to start at SISAC. “Don’t talk about it,” said Justin Kuan ’22. 2019-2020 Alumni Panel Provides Refreshing Take on the Wider World

On September 12, 2019, SASPD hosted its annual alumni panel during that week’s community meeting. This year, the alumni consisted of three students of the Class of 2009– Hamish McKenzie, Lennart Schwung, and Mike Chan. Unlike last year, the universities of the alumni this year span from Europe to Australia, as well as the United States. There was also a wider range of career paths that were presented–namely, teaching, marketing, and finally STEM management. 2019-2020: On Freshmen Transitioning into High School

Four weeks since the end of summer vacation, the school populace is getting used to its weekly rotation of classes, clubs, and extracurricular activities. For freshmen, high school brings about many changes: new opportunities, new choices, and new challenges. Spectrum: Opinions on the Nine

by Shelley Yang and Keely Boyle On September 23, over ninety ninth-grade students set off on a train to Wu Yuan on the second incarnation of the Nine, a five-day camp modeled from China Alive. Accompanying them were 12 advisors, several nurses, the grade leader, and the high school vice principal, Kristen Dickhaut.
